The Giorgio Deiana Foundation is delighted to announce a new partnership with Croce Verde Alessandria: on 12 April 2026, a ceremony was held in Alessandria to mark the launch of the new ambulance, purchased thanks to the support of the Giorgio Deiana Foundation. Marco Deiana attended the event on behalf of the Foundation.
Founded to provide healthcare support to the community, Croce Verde is a long-standing voluntary organisation operating in the field of first aid and social and healthcare assistance. Through an extensive network of vehicles and volunteers, it deals daily with emergencies, medical transport and support services for the most vulnerable members of the population, representing a cornerstone of the local welfare system.
With the inauguration of the ambulance vehicle supported by the Giorgio Deiana Foundation, Croce Verde Alessandria’s project “Safe Mobility for the Vulnerable: enhancing medical transport for the elderly and vulnerable people” officially gets underway. The project was launched to ensure non-emergency medical transport for the most vulnerable sections of the population. The progressive ageing of the population and the rise in social and health vulnerabilities make it increasingly necessary to guarantee adequate, safe and accessible transport services – this is why the partnership with the Giorgio Deiana Foundation was established.
The ambulance will be used on a daily basis by Croce Verde Alessandria to assist elderly and vulnerable people, as well as residents of care homes and social care facilities in the local area, with their essential travel needs, including specialist medical appointments and scheduled treatments, diagnostic tests at health centres, and hospital discharges and admissions. The expansion of the vehicle fleet will enable the organization to respond more effectively to the growing demands of the community, ensuring a consistent and accessible service for those who need it most.
